About the role

The Assistant Store Manager oversees store operations, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring operational excellence. This role includes managing the Operational Departments, interviewing and hiring new teammates, and driving the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures operational standards are met across departments such as Scan & Activate, SIM compliance, claims compliance, SFS/BOPIS fulfillment, speed of checkout, supply ordering, known theft log, stockroom organization standards, cash handling, LP audits, etc.
  • Monitors email for efficient communication and task execution.
  • Manages back-office procedures including applicant flow, pre-hire paperwork, I-9 compliance, background checks, terminations, final paychecks, personnel changes, corrective actions, payroll/timekeeping changes, personnel file maintenance, and attendance tracking.
  • Interviews and recommends hiring for hourly teammates in the Operations department.
  • Handles teammate discipline, appraisals, and performance matters.
  • Manages payroll to meet budget goals, including scheduling based on customer traffic and analyzing sales data.
  • Drives the customer experience at the Front End by training and developing associates through coaching.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of retail management experience
