About the role
The Assistant Store Manager oversees store operations in the Golf Galaxy area, driving brand and operational excellence, and ensuring high levels of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Drive brand and operational excellence by ensuring the team delivers hassle-free and engaging customer service.
- Prioritize teammate coaching, development, and wellbeing while focusing on financial metrics, store performance, and short/long-term planning.
- Manage teammates in Operational Departments (Front End, Freight and Operations) and other areas of the store.
- Ensure Operations Departments meet all operational standards, including scan & activate, SIM compliance, claims compliance, SFS/BOPIS fulfillment, speed of checkout, supply ordering, known theft log, stockroom organization standards, cash handling, LP audits, etc.
- Monitor email for efficient communication and task execution, manage back-office procedures, and handle disciplinary actions.
- Interview and recommend hiring for hourly teammates in the Operations department, onboard and train team members, handle discipline and performance matters, and drive customer experience at the Front End.
- Manage payroll, schedule teammates based on customer traffic, analyze sales through reports, and react accordingly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of retail management experience
