Assistant Store Manager - Full-Time

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports store operations with a customer-focused approach, assisting in supervising staff, managing merchandise, and ensuring store presentation aligns with company standards. They help maintain a clean, organized environment, handle stocking, cashiering, and inventory control, and contribute to maximizing profitability while safeguarding assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and operate cash registers
• Assist in employee scheduling, training, and safety meetings
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and display setup
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through damage control and paperwork
• Ensure merchandise presentation per planograms and store guidelines
• Oversee cash handling, deposit processes, and financial integrity in the absence of the Store Manager

Qualifications & Skills

• Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret manuals and diagrams
• Mathematical proficiency and cash register operation experience
• Knowledge of cash, safety, and security policies
• Ability to drive to bank and manage cash deposits

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least one year of retail experience and supervisory skills desirable

Working Conditions

Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds; handling merchandise and equipment; environment includes moderate noise, occasional outdoor exposure, and driving for store-related tasks.
