Assistant Store Manager

Assistant Managers support the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages the store team’s Guest Service behaviors, providing coaching to ensure they greet all guests in a friendly manner to make them feel welcomed, appreciated, and always “make it right” for our guests.
• Supports the Store Manager in building and developing a strong team with effective training, scheduling, coaching, and fostering a working environment that promotes engagement and living the Company values.
• Partners with the Store Manager to achieve operational excellence and hit financial objectives, including store promotions, sales objectives, and controls.
• Assists with achieving overall appearance and cleanliness of the store (inside and out), ensuring the coffee station is clean and stocked, the food service area is spotless, and bathrooms are sparkling clean. Delegates and directs the team to maintain condition levels up to the Company’s standard.
• Assists with quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and other guidelines for successful food service operation.
• Monitors product levels on the sales floor, including coolers and freezers, rotating stock, and keeping product levels full to achieve the Company goal of 100% in-stock at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Store Manager or Person in Charge in the Store Manager’s absence.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School or GED.
• Minimum Experience: 1 year of retail or food experience; must complete Assistant Manager Training program before assignment in this role.
• Preferred Experience: 1-2 years in retail, guest service, or restaurant, preferably in a leadership role.
• ServSafe/Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills

• Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members.
• High energy and ability to move quickly between tasks.
• Team-oriented; willing to give extra effort to help others.
• Computer skills are helpful.

Schedule

This position is scheduled primarily on second shifts, opposite the Store Manager, and requires availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Travel

5-10% travel to cover stores and attend meetings. Ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently (where applicable) and have your own vehicle to do so.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maneuver and regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand/walk 8 hours a day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp, and grip.
• Ability to work in cooler environments (cold temperatures).
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Additional Information

• Specialized attire required in food establishments (hats, visors, gloves, etc., provided).
• Desired previous job experience: 2 years of retail management or 2 years of non-retail management experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Stable work history and proficient computer skills.
