About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our self-storage facility in Raleigh, NC, on Glenwood Ave. The successful candidate will ensure customer satisfaction, maximize rental occupancy, and maintain the facility's overall performance and cleanliness. This role is crucial to our company's success, and we view talent as a top strategic priority.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations, ensuring efficient facility performance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service (online, over-the-phone, in-person), building strong tenant relationships.
  • Oversee leasing, payment processing, and delinquency management.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and security through regular inspections and light cleaning.
  • Implement marketing strategies to enhance occupancy and revenue.
  • Conduct administrative tasks, including completing leases, auditing inventory, and providing documentation.
  • Handle financial tasks, such as bank deposits, record-keeping, and reducing delinquent accounts.
  • Work with and ensure the performance of local vendors (e.g., tracking work orders for maintenance services).
  • Lead and develop the team, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Sell storage-related merchandise and ensure adequate inventory (e.g., locks, boxes).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience, with supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of the self-storage industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, basic Excel, Teams).
  • Availability to work some Saturdays and Sundays, with flexibility to balance work and personal needs.
  • Minimal physical requirements, including the ability to move and restock merchandise up to 50 lbs (rarely), move around the property for tours/inspections, and operate roll-up doors to storage units.

Schedule

8-10 hour shifts covering up to 40 hours per week most weeks, between the hours of 9 AM - 6 PM. The store is open Monday to Sunday, and specific work hours will be discussed during the hiring process.
