Assistant Store Manager

About the role

OXXO USA is seeking a dependable and energetic Assistant Store Manager to join our team at one of our retail locations. This role ensures the store is well-stocked, clean, and provides excellent customer service while managing financial transactions and supporting the overall success of the retail store.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain inventory levels by stocking shelves and monitoring supply.
• Ensure the store remains clean and organized.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any issues promptly.
• Handle financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Develop, lead, and support Sales Associates.
• Assign tasks, follow up, and counsel employees for policy adherence, cash shortages, or performance issues.
• Responsible for continued training, education, and development of all employees in the assigned store.
• Complete training according to corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Assist in the recruitment of potential candidates.
• Manage and resolve customer issues and conflicts professionally.
• Maintain communication accessibility for store needs.
• Teach and role model customer service and suggestive selling techniques.
• Lift, stand, and remain active for the duration of the shift, with frequent movement around the store.
• Unload deliveries, organize merchandise, and keep shelves stocked.

Requirements

• One (1) or more years’ experience working in a retail environment (preferred).
• Valid Driver’s License and transportation to/from bank and corporate meetings, plus valid vehicle insurance (required).
• Active listening and ability to demonstrate ongoing value.
• Ability to take initiative, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
• Operational excellence and strong time management skills.
• Schedule flexibility is essential; must work peak business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
