The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various aspects of the store, including sales, customer service, and store operations. Key duties include leading the team in providing excellent customer service, supervising customer service levels, managing staffing during peak times, assisting in hiring processes, and handling various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including executing customer service programs.
- Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing, especially during peak business hours.
- Aid in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
- Support the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
- Handle retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issuing refunds accurately, and processing returned merchandise correctly.
- Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties.
- Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule and proper clocking in/out.
- Perform store opening/closing duties, such as day end procedures, money verification, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle locking.
- Maintain the store's building, parking lot, exterior signage, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
- Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
- ASE Certification (Desired)
- Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Spanish (Highly Desired)
