Assistant Store Manager
Compensation pay range: $16.90 - $24.90 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance bonuses, or premiums that may be paid in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed, and multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
About the role
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts, and lead the store team members in servicing customers. Responsibilities
- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Work with the Store Manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak business hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends, etc.).
- Assist the Store Manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring team members stay current on individual training.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner; contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly, issue refunds accurately, and handle returned merchandise correctly.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before leaving the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and ensure completion of Image Maker and merchandising tasks.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, including adhering to posted work schedules, obtaining approval for changes, and clocking in/out correctly.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, managing security systems, and securing delivery vehicles.
- Assist the Store Manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification (desired).
- Certified Parts Professional Certification or ASE Certification (desired).
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
