Assistant Store Manager

Support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. Manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence or opposing shifts, and lead the team in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
• Ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the Store Manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring training compliance.
• Participate in the hiring process: recruiting, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating on selections.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process buy online/ship-to-store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders promptly; notify customers upon shipment arrivals.
• Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
• Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately, and handle returned merchandise correctly.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before leaving the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks.
• Ensure team members comply with company policies, including work schedules, clocking in/out, and management approval for deviations.
• Perform store opening/closing duties: day-end procedures, securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, managing security systems, and securing delivery vehicles.
• Assist the Store Manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, lighting, computer hardware, service equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification (required).
• Certified Parts Professional Certification or ASE Certification (desired).
• Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.
