About the role
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position manages the store during the Store Manager’s absence or when working opposing shifts and leads the store team in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Work with the Store Manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
- Assist the Store Manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring team members stay current on individual training.
- Participate in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and conducting interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management on selections.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship-to-store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner; contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately, ensuring refunds are issued using the correct payment methods and returned merchandise is handled properly.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before leaving the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, including adhering to posted work schedules, obtaining approval for schedule changes, and proper clocking in/out.
- Perform store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, managing security systems, and securing delivery vehicles.
- Assist the Store Manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification (desired).
- Certified Parts Professional Certification or ASE Certification (desired).
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
