Assistant Store Manager
The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts supports the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. Key responsibilities include leading the store team in excellent customer service, supervising customer service levels, managing staffing, setting goals, providing feedback, and hiring new team members. Additionally, this position assists in processing returns, handling special orders, and maintaining the store environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including executing customer service programs.
- Adequately staff the retail sales counter during peak business hours.
- Aid the Store Manager in setting team member goals, offering feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
- Participate in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
- Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
- Ensure all merchandise is invoiced before leaving the store, including core charges and warranties.
- Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule and proper clocking in/out.
- Perform store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, money verification, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle locking.
- Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage, lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
- Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
- ASE Certification (Desired)
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
