Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts supports the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. Key responsibilities include leading the store team, managing customer service levels, staffing the retail sales counter, setting team member goals, and ensuring all merchandise is invoiced before leaving the store.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs.
• Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing, especially during peak business hours.
• Aid in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy and handle buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
• Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
• Process retail customer returns and exchanges in an efficient and friendly manner, issue refunds accurately, and stage returned merchandise correctly.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule, changes, and team member clocking.
• Perform store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying and securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring security measures are in place, and managing delivery vehicles.
• Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification
• RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification (desired)
• ASE Certification (desired)
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)

Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premium payments based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. The pay range is $11.41 - $20.30 per hour, with additional benefits such as a competitive wages package, stock purchase plan, 401(k) with employer contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and opportunities for career growth.
