Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts supports the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. Key responsibilities include leading the store team, managing customer service levels, staffing the retail sales counter, setting team member goals, providing feedback, and hiring new employees.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, ensuring adherence to customer service programs.
• Avoid understaffing the retail sales counter during peak business hours.
• Assist the Store Manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
• Support the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
• Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
• Manage retail customer returns and exchanges, issuing refunds accurately, and processing returned merchandise correctly.
• Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Perform store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying and securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring security, and managing deliveries.
• Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification
• RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification
• ASE Certification
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
