Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts supports the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. Key responsibilities include leading the store team, managing customer service levels, staffing the retail sales counter, setting team member goals, providing feedback, and hiring new employees. Additionally, this role involves handling customer returns and exchanges, processing special orders, and performing store opening and closing duties.

Pay

The actual hourly rate equals or exceeds the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premium payments, which can vary per hour based on factors such as schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Essential Job Functions

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including executing customer service programs.
• Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing, especially during peak business hours.
• Aid in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
• Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
• Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
• Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed accurately and promptly.
• Invoice merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Perform store opening and closing duties, including day end procedures, money verification, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle locking.
• Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification (desired)
• ASE Certification (desired)
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
