About the role
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position manages the store during the Store Manager’s absence and leads the store team in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring execution of programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Work with the Store Manager to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
- Assist in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and ensuring training completion.
- Participate in the hiring process, including recruiting, interviewing, evaluating candidates, and collaborating on selections.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship-to-store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders promptly; notify customers upon shipment arrivals.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges accurately, including refunds and returned merchandise handling.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before leaving the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, including work schedules, clocking in/out, and security procedures.
- Perform store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, and managing security alarms and delivery vehicles.
- Assist the Store Manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification (desired).
- Certified Parts Professional Certification or ASE Certification (desired).
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
