Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts supports the Store Manager in various areas including sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. Key responsibilities include leading the store team, managing customer service levels, staffing the retail sales counter, setting team member goals, providing feedback, and mentoring. The position also involves assisting with the hiring process, ensuring proper handling of customer returns and exchanges, and performing store opening and closing duties.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service.
• Supervise customer service levels and execute customer service programs.
• Adequately staff the retail sales counter during peak hours.
• Support the store manager in setting team member goals and providing feedback.
• Collaborate with management to select qualified team members.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
• Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders.
• Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Perform store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, money verification, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle locking.
• Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification
• RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
• ASE Certification (Desired)
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
