Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various aspects of the store, including sales, customer service, and store operations. Key duties include leading the team in providing excellent customer service, supervising customer service levels, managing staffing during peak times, and assisting in the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs.
• Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak business hours.
• Aid in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring team members.
• Assist in the recruitment process by completing tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy and handle buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
• Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to efficiently handle special orders and outside purchases.
• Process retail customer returns and exchanges in a friendly and accurate manner, issue refunds using the correct payment methods, and stage returned merchandise correctly.
• Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks, and ensure all team members comply with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule and proper clocking in/out.
• Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring all night security lights are on, locking doors and securing building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing/locking delivery vehicles.
• Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Qualifications

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification
• Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
• ASE Certification (Desired)
• Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Spanish (Highly Desired)
