About the role
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position manages the store during the Store Manager’s absence or opposing shifts and leads the store team in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Work with the Store Manager to ensure adequate staffing at the retail sales counter, especially during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
- Assist in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring team members stay current on individual training.
- Participate in the hiring process, including recruiting, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management on selections.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship-to-store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner; contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately, and handle returned merchandise correctly.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before leaving the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, including adhering to work schedules, clocking in/out, and obtaining approval for schedule changes.
- Perform store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, managing security systems, and securing delivery vehicles.
- Assist the Store Manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification (required).
- Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification (desired).
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
