About the Role
Use your automotive or customer service expertise to serve both wholesale and retail customers daily, lead your team, and help NAPA become the dominant parts supplier in the market as an Assistant Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Create a superior customer service experience to drive store growth, increase sales, and maximize market penetration.
- Provide daily leadership and foster a culture of employee engagement.
- Partner with teammates to drive company-owned store initiatives.
- Lead and support a successful team in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Manage store operations to maximize sales, profits, and customer service.
- Build, coach, train, and engage your team to deliver exceptional customer care and business results.
- Oversee inventory protection, asset management, operational safety, and overall store cleanliness (sales floor, stock room, delivery vehicles).
- Drive NAPA operational and marketing programs while improving processes and procedures.
- Grow customer relationships, assist with sales and service questions, and ensure a positive in-store and phone experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school courses or degree completion.
- Experience in the automotive aftermarket service industry, DIY/hobby world, or willingness to learn automotive concepts.
- Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs in some situations.
Preferred Experience
- Background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership sectors.
- Experience in parts stores, auctions, retail management, auto body/collision, or fast food/restaurant/convenience store management.
- Customer-centric mindset (both external and internal).
- ASE Certifications.
- Familiarity with NAPA systems and processes.

Pay
Starting hourly rate of $12.77. Many hourly positions include pay progression, reaching the top of the range within 12 months of hire. Starting rates for other positions are determined based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.
