About the Role
Use your automotive or customer service expertise to serve both wholesale and retail customers daily, lead your teammates, and help NAPA become the dominant parts supplier in the market. This Assistant Store Manager role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a superior customer service experience, driving store growth, and fostering a culture of employee engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead a successful team, support the store manager, and manage fast-paced retail store operations to maximize sales, profits, and customer service.
- Build, coach, train, and engage the team to deliver superior customer care and business results.
- Oversee inventory protection, asset management, operational and safety issues, and ensure overall cleanliness of delivery vehicles, sales floor, stock room, and outside areas.
- Drive NAPA operational and marketing programs while continuously improving processes and procedures.
- Grow customer relationships, assist with sales and service questions, and ensure a positive in-store and phone experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school courses or degree completion.
- Experience in the automotive aftermarket service industry, hobby/DIY world, or willingness to learn automotive concepts.
- Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs in some situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
- Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision, or fast food/restaurant/convenience store management.
- Customer-centric mindset (both external and internal).
- ASE Certifications.
- NAPA Know How.

Pay
This position offers an hourly pay of $21.80, with pay progression reaching the top of the range within 12 months of hire. Starting rates for other positions may vary based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.
