About the Role
Use your automotive or customer service expertise to serve both wholesale and retail customers daily, lead your teammates, and help NAPA become the dominant parts supplier in the market. This Assistant Store Manager role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a superior customer service experience, driving store growth, and increasing sales and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership and foster a culture of employee engagement.
- Partner with teammates to drive company-owned store initiatives.
- Manage store operations to maximize sales, profits, and customer service.
- Build, coach, train, and engage your team to deliver superior customer care and business results.
- Oversee inventory protection, asset management, operational and safety issues.
- Maintain overall cleanliness and readiness of delivery vehicles, sales floor, stock room, and outside areas.
- Drive NAPA operational and marketing programs while improving processes and procedures.
- Grow customer relationships, assist with sales and service questions, and ensure a positive in-store and phone experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school courses or degree completion.
- Experience in the automotive after-market service industry, hobby/DIY world, or willingness to learn automotive concepts.
- Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs in some situations.
Preferred Experience
- Background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
- Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision, or fast food/restaurant/convenience store management.
- Entirely customer-centric mindset (external and internal).
- ASE Certifications or NAPA Know How.

Pay
Starting hourly rate of $17, with pay progression to the top of the range within 12 months of hire for eligible positions. Starting rates may vary based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.
