Assistant Store Manager

This role supports the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager, ensuring high cleanliness standards and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Ensure high cleanliness standards through continuous maintenance (e.g., sweeping, mopping, grounds maintenance) of the site, including the office and the interior/exteriors of the storage building.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Protect and maintain the company culture by establishing professional relationships with all Extra Space employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1+ year of customer-facing work experience.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle (except in New York City and Brooklyn).
• High School diploma or GED required; college education is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Perform indoor and outdoor job responsibilities ranging from sedentary desk work to physical job duties with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
• Regular tasks include standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting, and lifting.
• Regularly required to lift or move items up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
