The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) role at Community Choice Financial® Store Manager in Birmingham, AL supports customers through financial needs while gaining hands-on store management experience. Key responsibilities include maximizing customer success, managing risk, overseeing account management, supporting customer service, performing various store duties, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maximize customer success by offering financial services tailored to their needs.
- Audit and manage risk of financial transactions, evaluate and process loan/pawn applications, check cashing transactions, and ancillary products.
- Complete daily call campaigns to market services, build new business, and nurture customer relationships.
- Oversee account management and recovery processes, including collection calls, while maintaining customer service and preventing losses.
- Maintain customer information in the point of sale (POS) system with accuracy and integrity.
- Support, coach, and develop Customer Service Representatives to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety procedures.
- Perform duties outside the office, including on-site vehicle appraisals, store errands, and external marketing activities.
- Work to meet Company-set performance standards by leveraging partnerships, obtaining referrals, and participating in and hosting in-store and community events.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Conduct store audits, create reports, and compile financial data to ensure compliance.
- Maintain store appearance and cleanliness, addressing basic facility needs and scheduling maintenance services.
- Handle multiple tasks efficiently to meet individual and team performance standards.
- Conduct additional tasks as directed by leadership.
Qualifications and Skills
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year’s experience in customer service, sales, or retail.
- At least 3 months of supervisory, key holder, or relevant leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using phones, POS system, Microsoft Office, and other computer systems.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in Alabama).
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and personal vehicle to use throughout the workday (mileage compensated).
Nice to Haves
- Management experience in retail, convenience store, grocery, finance, service, or related industries.
- Experience in check cashing, document verification, money order processing.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus and may be required for certain locations.
