Assistant Store Manager
About the role
Lead the team and help create a positive, high-energy store culture. Deliver exceptional, proactive customer service and make sure the team does the same. Help drive sales, profitability, and other store goals. Keep the sales floor fresh, organized, stocked, and merchandised to company standards. Oversee receiving, deliveries, inventory, safety, and day-to-day store operations. Support and develop associates through coaching, training, and consistent feedback. Build relationships with both retail and commercial customers and help grow the business. Responsibilities

- Help drive sales, profitability, and other store goals.
- Keep the sales floor fresh, organized, stocked, and merchandised to company standards.
- Oversee receiving, deliveries, inventory, safety, and day-to-day store operations.
- Support and develop associates through coaching, training, and consistent feedback.
- Build relationships with both retail and commercial customers and help grow the business.

Requirements
- Have strong customer service and communication skills.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment.
- Be confident making decisions and solving problems without needing to be told what to do.
- Be organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Understand retail sales, merchandising, operations, and the importance of controlling shrink.
- Have hardware, building materials, lumber, or retail experience (a big plus!)
- Be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Can safely lift up to 50 lbs. and handle the physical demands of a hardware store, including ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and stocking overhead.
