About the role

The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in managing all store operations, ensuring optimal customer experiences, and maintaining brand standards.

Responsibilities

• 30% Brand: Supervise and plan associates' daily goals to deliver exceptional client experiences, maximize sales/KPIs, and drive customer loyalty. Ensure all brand standards are met, including merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Resolve customer issues and anticipate customer demands.

• 30% People: Engage, train, and develop teams to achieve positive results. Recruit and build a network of external candidates to fill positions. Identify strengths and opportunities for associates and address them through coaching or counseling. Maintain positive relations with associates and keep them informed of relevant company information. Build strong relationships with Store Manager peers and ensure consistent communication.

• 30% Operations: Ensure execution of company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement. Utilize digital strategies such as Omni-channel fulfillment. Manage inventory, payroll hours, and store opening/closing procedures. Follow company directives, assignments, and projects.

• 10% Safety/Loss Prevention: Ensure store safety for associates and customers. Protect company assets by following inventory and cash control procedures. Analyze and utilize available reporting, tools, and technology. Ensure compliance with HAZMAT training and execution.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• At least 18 years of age

• Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred

• At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred

• Ability to lead or support a team of associates to meet business objectives

• Effective communication skills

• Scheduling availability to meet business needs

• Cosmetology license desirable, but not required
