About the role
The Assistant Store Director is responsible for the overall management of the store during the absence of the Store Director. They oversee all store employees, manage store performance, handle customer complaints, and ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Overall management responsibility for store operations
- Track and analyze store performance
- Forecast, schedule, and monitor labor
- Support Store Director with strategies to improve product placement and appearance
- Maintain store maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation
- Manage cash and accounting, ensuring store security
- Manage employee selection, training, and development
- Provide customer service and motivate employees
Requirements
- One year of assistant manager experience or two years as a department manager
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College degree preferred
- Strong customer service and supervisory skills
- Solid understanding of store operations
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay
The salary range is $68k to $82k annually with quarterly bonus potential. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
Schedule
Albertsons Companies operates 24 hours per day, requiring a variety of shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends. Days off during the work week are seldom taken consecutively. As an Assistant Store Director, a significant portion of your day will be spent on the sales floor managing employees and interacting with customers.
