Assistant Station Manager Bird Creek

Acceptable candidate is to insure smooth operation of a retail fuel facility including a convenience store. All company assets must be maintained in a clean and professional manner. The candidate must have an excellent attitude and customer service skills, as well as leadership skills. High quality and effective personnel management skills are a must and include interviewing, hiring, training and terminating as necessary. Candidate will be responsible for insuring all station operations are complete. A basic understanding of multiple customer payment systems and cash management equipment is beneficial. Prior experience with credit card payment systems and working knowledge of payment card Industry standards is helpful. Canidate is responsible for accurate bank deposits and cash drawer balancing. This position is a working Manager with daily in station routines including operating a cash register as needed. Essential Job Functions **(Responsibilities, Accountabilities, and Competencies; May not include all duties of this job)** **A. JOB DUTIES** CUSTOMER SERVICE: This person will maintain good communication with customers; sales representatives, associates, and superiors to assure procedures operate within the framework of organizational goals and objectives. PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT: This person will be responsible for the training and development of all new hires, as well as the further advancements of existing associates. Schedule writing to insure proper customer service and staffing. MANAGEMENT: This person will perform all necessary functions to operate a retail location in a corporate environment including product inventory management, (purchase, display and resale). CASH MANAGEMENT: This Station Manager will be balancing daily tills and station sales to insure accurate bank deposits. PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS REQUIRED: Performs a variety of general duties, including telephone reception, ordering and restocking products, cleaning and maintaining the facility to company and regulatory levels. **B. ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Any equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)** **Education**: High School**Experience**: A minimum of four years retail management experience is preferred. Must have general knowledge of accounting procedures. Must have experience in working with point of sale systems.**Licensure/Certification**: Alaska food workers card required. Alaska Serve-Safe certificate also required. Shoreside will provide the required training for the Alaska Serve-Safe certificate.**Other Qualifications**: Must be able to work cooperatively with others and communicate in writing and verbally effectively with others. Must possess the desire to achieve higher standards for self and others. Should be a team player that is willing to also learn from the team.**Attendance**: Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
