About the role

The position of Assistant Softball Coach at Thiel College is a part-time, 10-month position that includes housing, a cell phone stipend, and a meal plan. The successful candidate will report to the Head Softball Coach and the Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities

  • Teach/instruct student-athletes in their designated sport (primary duty of all coaches).
  • Aid the Head Coach in all aspects of game and practice preparations.
  • Mentor and monitor the student-athlete's academic progress.
  • Evaluate student-athlete's academic and athletic performance.
  • Aid in planning and implementing pre/post workout programs.
  • Aid in fundraising activities.
  • Aid in community service planning and implementation.
  • Recruit, retain, and graduate quality student-athletes for Thiel College and the athletic program.
  • Serve as a gameday administrator.
  • Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, the Presidents Athletic Conference, and Thiel College.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Head Coach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
