Assistant Site Manager (Night Shift Schedule)
Responsibilities
This position requires a commitment to working mandatory night shifts 4pm-4am, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to support project operations.
Will function as the overall Site Manager during off rotation for the Site Manager.
Absolutely assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval.
Absolutely assist in the development and management of project schedule.
Absolutely prepare estimates in areas of self-performed work and assist in complete project estimate.
Depending on the size of the project, may function as a Site Manager for small projects (under 5 million).
Absolutely responsible for multiple divisions of work, all aspects of the means and method of construction.
Absolutely solicit prices from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for review and approval.
Absolutely assist in selection of qualified bidders, negotiate final prices, draft subcontracts and purchase orders.
Absolutely assist in the preparation of various reports, i.e. cost to complete, monthly billings and status reports, progress tracking.
Absolutely study specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
Absolutely implement procedures and assist in identifying staffing needs.
Absolutely assist in locating, evaluating, and selecting potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers as it related to the General Conditions budget.
Absolutely assist in pricing work, draft changes and change orders and in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project.
Absolutely assist Coordinating and managing on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
Absolutely schedule work, including subcontractors.
Absolutely determine materials, equipment and tools needed.
Absolutely secure appropriate supply sources.
Absolutely set up and close out construction site.
Absolutely establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance to company and industry standards.
Absolutely serve as on-site safety when one is not specifically assigned to the project, able to stop work, discipline team members, and remove team members/subcontractors from the site in the absence of the Site Manager.
Absolutely able to make decisions regarding safety and quality on the spot to make improvements, without further approval.
Absolutely resolve issues and act on behalf of management while keeping the financial impact of decisions in mind as it relates to potential out of scope items.
Absolutely procure tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
Absolutely confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specification, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Absolutely confer with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.
Absolutely prepare or review reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports.
Absolutely provide expert advice as it relates to a specific division of work.
Absolutely meet with the customer and refer all customer requested changes to the SM and PM for proper disposition.
Absolutely work with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors throughout the duration of the project.
Absolutely ensure required inspections are conducted per the project specifications and documents and proper documentation is kept.
Absolutely communicate, implement and enforce Gray’s safety program on site.
Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of three years of construction experience OR a minimum five years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired - specifically within the food and beverage market.
Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
Strong people management skills.
Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets and smartphones.
MS project and other scheduling software a plus.
Must possess a strong work ethic and be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
Must posses the ability to think for his/herself and be able to manage without direction having to be given.
This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S..
The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray’s travel policy.
