Assistant Site Manager

About the role

GardenCore is seeking an Assistant Site Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit to oversee all aspects of a fast-paced lawn and garden products manufacturing facility. This role involves managing the intake of raw materials, processing, and packaging for mulch and soils, while ensuring safety, product quality, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional leadership to staff, assess performance, and direct operational activities to ensure safety, product quality, and consistency.
• Ensure workplace safety through implementation, adherence, and enforcement of company business standards, safety programs, and development initiatives.
• Implement process improvement methods to maintain non-stop production in an effective, safe, and profitable manner.
• Negotiate costs with raw material suppliers and schedule deliveries to meet business and production build schedules.
• Oversee inventory management, labor, and cost controls, with accountability for bottom-line results.
• Monitor key metrics, production flow, and material costs on a daily basis.

Requirements

• 2 or 4-year degree and/or equivalent combination of education, industry experience, and training.
• 2+ years of manufacturing management experience.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Intermediate MS Office skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in wood, pulp, or mulch manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment.

Pay

Base salary of $75,000 - $80,000 per year.
