At Arc Experience, we bring learning to life through before and after-school programs that serve youth across Southern California, including Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Imperial Valley. The Assistant Site Coordinator has a unique dual role: working directly with students while also handling leadership and administrative responsibilities. This position is ideal for those looking to grow their leadership skills and advance within our company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Site Coordinator by acting as the second point of contact for parents and administrators.
  • Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.
  • Establish and enforce rules and expectations to promote positive behavior.
  • Coordinate, manage, and participate in indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
  • Attend trainings or staff meetings to stay updated on best practices in childcare, safety, and program management.
  • Address challenging behavior constructively, involving supervisors or parents if necessary.
  • Facilitate sign-up procedures to ensure accurate attendance tracking.
  • Create unique clubs for students (e.g., career readiness, cooking, anime, dance).
  • Organize and lead activities such as homework help, recreational games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
  • Work with administrative staff at the school, develop lesson plans, track attendance, and ensure grant compliance.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with both kids and parents.
  • College transcripts showing 48+ completed college credit units OR passing an academic proficiency exam.
  • Negative TB test results and passing a Live Scan background check.
  • English-Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
  • If required by the school, documentation of full Covid-19 vaccination.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning Shift (Optional): 6am-8am
  • Afternoon Shift: 2pm-6pm (one day per week is a minimum day, approximately 12pm-6pm depending on the school)

Reliable commute required before starting work.
