Assistant Shop Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for the Fabrication Shop at Shambaugh & Son L.P., a leading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractor based in Indiana.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering teams to schedule proper work for the shop
• Supervise 3 shift Supervisors and report directly to the Shop Manager
• Delegate work as needed to each shift in the Fabrication Shop with Shop Manager
• Cook trucks being loaded and ready to go out on time
• Coordinate with Superintendents for jobs
• Communicate with field employees throughout job sites
• Train all new employees
• Other duties assigned

Qualifications

• Experience in a Plant Manager role in the Fabrication industry preferred
• Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks appropriately
• Willingness to work 6 days a week
• Strong work ethic and commitment to customers
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Highly organized and good time management abilities
• Professional, positive, and respectful attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, customers, and vendors
• Knowledge of Excel, Word & other Microsoft Office products
