Assistant Service Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist in forecasting and meeting departmental goals and objectives
• Establish and maintain harmony and teamwork with all other departments
• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department
• Keep abreast of and comply with relevant regulations affecting service operations
• Manage 5-10 employees in the Service Department
• Manage and motivate employees, providing guidance and feedback
• Schedule and direct department activities
• Maintain customer relationships to encourage repeat and referral business
• Handle customer complaints and maintain high customer satisfaction standards
• Break down estimates into labor and parts before starting repairs
• Stay informed about new equipment and tools, recommending purchases
• Ensure work areas and customer waiting areas are clean and inviting
• Monitor repair order trends and update customer service files
• Collect accounts receivable for service work
• Follow up on parts department orders to ensure availability

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a Service Department, preferably in a dealership setting
• At least 2 years of proven experience leading, supervising, or managing a high-performing team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• References available upon request
• A valid in-state driver's license
