Assistant Scientist

Position Summary

The Assistant Scientist will provide technical support by performing scientific experiments, maintaining records of data, and training graduate and medical students in research methods and procedures.

Job Details

• Required Education And Experience: Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related discipline and two years of relevant experience. Master's degree preferred.
• Preferred Education And Experience: Master's degree
• Required Skills And Abilities: Demonstrated ability in literary searching, designing, and conducting experiments, precise record keeping, data analyzing, and interpretation for assigned project(s).
• Essential Duties:
• Autonomously manages day-to-day research activities requiring technical knowledge and experience in molecular biology or related research fields.
• Executes experimental protocols for assigned projects under the supervision of the PI.
• Captures, analyzes, and presents data.
• Helps establish policies and procedures for the lab to adhere to University and NIH policies and ensures lab members adhere to all policies.
• Maintains laboratory equipment in good order, places lab orders, and maintains accurate records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
