Assistant Restaurant Manager at Shake Shack

Responsibilities

• Manage all restaurant and customer service activities, including supervising and evaluating team member performance.
• Lead and develop a team of Food Travel Experts: recruit, train, communicate, assign tasks, and implement guest service standards.
• Maintain adherence to all company policies, procedures, and brand specifications.
• Oversee merchandising, displays, and inventory levels to uphold brand standards.
• Handle office management tasks such as receiving, inventory, purchasing, scheduling, and payroll.
• Assist in monitoring sales performance through analysis of sales reports and forecasting/budgeting.
• Address routine issues and escalate complex problems to higher management as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree or equivalent coursework preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in the restaurant industry in a management/supervisory capacity.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activities.
• Ability to interact effectively at all levels, including executives, union representatives, and diverse team members.
• Proven track record of resolving uncomfortable situations with clients, customers, peers, and direct reports.
