Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel and Miller Time Pub & Grill are seeking an outgoing, customer-focused leader as the next Assistant Restaurant Manager. This key role on the food and beverage team will manage evening operations, including In-Room Dining, Concierge Lounge, and Miller Time Pub and Grill. The ideal candidate excels in attention to detail and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences in a historic Nebraska landmark.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort guests to tables, ensuring a courteous and efficient dining room operation to maximize guest satisfaction.
• Perform all dining room positions, including server, server assistant, and host.
• Interact positively with customers, promoting hotel facilities and services.
• Resolve guest problems to the satisfaction of all involved parties.
• Monitor food quality and service standards by moving throughout the facility and kitchen areas, taking corrective action as needed.
• Verify temperature, appearance, and taste of products; check preparation methods to ensure quality and consistency.
• Provide guidance for improvement and make necessary adjustments.
• Utilize POS systems to accurately charge customers and ensure timely food and beverage service.
• Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics, and self-image for yourself and subordinates.
• Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are maintained by all associates.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; college degree in a hospitality-related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of Food & Beverage and supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and POS systems is helpful.
• Experience with beverage operations.
• Ability to work entire shift standing and moving about restaurants and kitchen areas.
• Strong English language skills: reading, writing, and communication to understand internal documents, reports, and interact effectively with guests and employees.
