About the Role

The supervisor’s position requires strong communication skills, the ability to juggle several tasks, and a willingness to complete paperwork. This role demands consistent adherence to the department’s policies and procedures as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOPs).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the restaurant has all necessary tools to open and operate daily.
  • Verify staff are in proper uniform, tasks are completed, and service meets hotel standards.
  • Confirm all side jobs are complete and the restaurant is ready to open on time.
  • Manage and maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Assist in or complete forecasts and schedules for restaurant, PM, bartending, and pool staff.
  • Assign opening and closing side jobs.
  • Walk the floor to ensure the pool and restaurant areas are clean.
  • Maintain eye contact with guests and coworkers.
  • Monitor and maintain budget levels, suggest cost-saving improvements, and drive revenue growth.
  • Supervise the floor to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Follow up on customer requests and resolve challenges.
  • Provide training guidelines and train staff to LQA standards.
  • Assist the supervisor in floor duties to maintain high service levels.
  • Ensure servers are knowledgeable about daily specials.
  • Verify completion of side jobs with the supervisor at the end of the day.
  • Conduct daily bar checks to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and proper stocking according to par levels.
  • Maintain payroll, monitor employee hours, vacation, cabana service charges, and server tip-outs.
  • Manage menu updates, notify the webmaster and hotel of changes.
  • Attend F&B meetings with the Director.
  • Provide staff incentives, engage with staff, and challenge them to deliver luxury service.
  • Monitor bar levels and requisitions, manage food costs.
  • Submit purchase orders and requisitions as needed.
  • Maintain uniform levels, backup uniforms, and inventory for pool products (towels, covers, chairs, trash pickers, plates, silverware, etc.).
  • Focus on staff training, create tests, and supply supervisors with materials for pre-shifts and trainings.
  • Monitor and track employee history, evaluations, disciplinary documents, staff meeting checklists, pool attendant meeting checklists, day-off requests, vacation requests, and school days off requests.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalence required.

Experience: One year of prior restaurant experience desired.

Physical Demands

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Use, carry, and operate office equipment requiring finger dexterity.
  • Communicate verbally, hear, and maintain visual acuity for extended periods, including computer use.
  • Adapt to moderate indoor temperatures controlled by hotel environmental systems.
