About the role
Abilities First, Inc., is seeking an Assistant Residential Program Manager for the Ermo IRA located in Poughkeepsie. The position is full-time and eligible for various benefits.
Responsibilities
- Ensure residents receive appropriate training, support, and supervision for daily living needs.
- Support residents in making informed choices about their interests and goals.
- Aid residents in self-advocacy and communicate their preferences to service providers.
- Communicate effectively with staff to ensure consistent and efficient service delivery.
- Report to and follow the directions of the Residential Manager and Program Coordinator.
- Assist with staff screening, selection, training, and evaluation.
- Maintain appropriate staffing ratios and ensure schedules are completed.
- Act as the first point of contact for staff, including handling callouts.
- Organize team-building activities and travel to program sites.
- Manage grocery and benefit ledgers, maintain inventories, and communicate with maintenance.
- Maintain the residence and grounds, ensuring they are well-maintained.
- Document and maintain accurate records, including medication administration, billing, summaries, medical documentation, incident reports, and vehicle logs.
- Incorporate person-centered excellence by respecting residents' rights and providing appropriate role modeling.
- Ensure staff provide necessary documentation and attend required meetings and training.
- Provide confidentiality and adhere to the agency's Code of Legal and Ethical Behavior.
- Perform other job-related activities as requested.
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
- One year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Current certifications in SCIP, First Aid, CPR, AMAP, and other relevant certifications preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with college coursework in human services or vocational training preferred.
- Reliable transportation and a valid NYS driver’s license required.
