Assistant Residence Supervisor - Staten Island

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and sanitation in the residences and that adequate support services (vendors, suppliers) are maintained.
  • Provide direct services to the Individuals together with the direct care staff.
  • Supervise the DSP's, Cook and Maintenance personnel and ensure that training is provided to the facility staff.
  • Manage the residence in the absence of the Residence Supervisor and report to the Area Coordinator.
  • Responsible for employee relations. Resolve employee related problems and issues. Conflict resolution.
  • Completes performance evaluations of union staff.
  • Attends job/career fairs and open houses with Recruitment Specialist.
  • Administers the Agency’s progressive disciplinary program.
  • Conducts suspensions and participates in employment terminations.
  • Participates in the grievance process with union employees.
  • Affixes appropriate staff for facility and assigns specific daily task assignments.
  • Completes payroll.
  • Ensures adequate coverage for staff vacation. Approves and disapproves staff vacation based on coverage.
  • Provides emergency coverage of the residence as the occasion may arise.
  • Partners with the Residence Supervisor to ensure that fire drills are conducted.
  • Manages Individual accounts, records and petty cash. Sends vendor receipts, invoices and statements to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Reviews the van log to ensure it is been maintained.
  • Oversees the supervision and training of Individuals in cooking, kitchen and household duties and general hygiene.
  • Develops a community inclusion calendar and ensures inclusions are completed at least 3x a week for each individual.
  • Together with the Supervisor, the assistant supervisor is responsible for proper and adequate staffing of the facility.
  • Actively participates in all individual conference meetings and treatment plans.
  • Trains, guides and motivates staff in the implementation of the Individuals’ treatment plans.
  • Ensures that the recommendations of the IDT Team are carried out.
  • Responsible for good community relations especially the immediate surrounding community.
  • Checks all data collection on a daily basis.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with the DD population
  • Valid Driver’s license required
  • Must be computer literate, detail-oriented and have excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to multi-task is a plus
