About the role
This position will work as part of the Registrar's Office team to provide student-centered service and will act as a support to the leadership in charge of Records and Veteran Certification which includes grade processing, direct credit, prior learning, and requirements related to veteran certification and I-20 production, and other records-related functions.
Responsibilities
- Support the systems and software utilized in records, veteran certification, and I-20 production for international students.
- Support recruiting and retention efforts by ensuring prompt processing of veteran certification, I-20 production, grade changes, direct-credit processing, prior learning and other records-related functions.
- Assist with regularly scheduled and ad hoc reporting related to student records.
- Assist with midterm and final grading processes.
- Support the maintenance of workflows for the Records area.
- Assist in granting appropriate security roles to faculty and staff in various university systems.
- Manage the maintenance of major declarations and provide support for all curriculum updates.
- Oversee the duplicate PIDM process.
- Lead compliance efforts related to military tuition support programs.
- Support compliance efforts related to I-20 Production.
- Support the university’s data stewardship and data integrity efforts related to student records.
- Support leadership in charge of records and veteran certification and provides leadership and supervision to direct reports.
- Work cooperatively and productively with other staff members to ensure extraordinary customer service to GVSU students, staff, and faculty.
- Work collaboratively with leadership on unit-related decision making.
- Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of related experience.
- Experience managing and supervising teams.
- Experience working with a variety of constituents in a customer service environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and computational skills.
- Ability to solve problems, organize time effectively, and handle multiple projects.

- A high degree of confidentiality, discretion, judgment, collaboration, and the ability to build strong relationships.
- A strong understanding of automated data systems and their relationship to university operations, university student information systems, administrative software, imaging and workflow applications (experience with at least one of Banner, Workday Student, DegreeWorks, OnBase, SAS Enterprise Guide, or Argos preferred).
Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Higher education experience

Schedule
Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
