What You'll Do
- Aid the director in developing, implementing, and overseeing therapeutic recreation programs for residents.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess residents' needs and preferences.
- Lead and guide the therapeutic recreation team.
- Organize and facilitate various opportunities for entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression.
- Ensure residents fulfill their basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages resident participation.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
- Assist families of physically, emotionally, and cognitively impaired individuals in exploring appropriate hobbies and leisure activities.

Qualifications of an Assistant Therapeutic Recreation / Activities
- A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential is preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and leading therapeutic recreation programs.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Calmness and empathy in working with seniors.
- An interest in the needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both.
- A creative mindset with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to collaborate with team members, residents, and families to create a positive and inclusive environment.
