Responsibilities
- Act as a filter for guest complaints or concerns to the Executive Concierge
- Ensure front desk logs and reports are maintained within Company Standards
- Handle guest requests in a timely and efficient manner with appropriate follow-up
- Complete all end-of-cruise filing and cruise startup preparation promptly
- Liaise with the Executive Concierge to ensure smooth information flow to the Front Office
- Perform daily follow-up of all front desk logs
- Take a pro-active approach to problem-solving
- Assist the Executive Concierge with necessary documentation for embarkation
- Prepare front desk schedules and work rotations
- Assist in implementing and maintaining corporate guidelines, procedures, and training practices
- Print Oceania Club invitations after preparation by the Oceania Ambassador
- Collect, balance, and post US quarters from guest launderettes
- Prepare files for the General Manager with La Reserve, Privee bookings, and Terrace Café guest counts at the end of each cruise
- Update folders for the current cruise, including telephone directory and cabin availability lists
- Provide US dollar change for Front Desk staff
- Collect, verify, and collate guest cash payments at the end of the cruise and hand them to the Chief Purser
- Cash out traveler’s checks and cash advances with Front Office staff at the end of the cruise
- Balance cash advances to the cruise balance report at the end of the cruise
- Set up guest accounts, process cash payments, and handle guest account queries
- Provide US dollars and foreign currency exchange services to guests
- Provide cash advances and foreign currency account payments to guests
- Perform daily safe audits and foreign currency audits
- Attend onboard gaming activities and prepare final figures and audits
- Perform accounting duties as instructed by the Chief Purser or Second Purser
- Train new reception staff in front office operations
- Monitor the practical application of the Company’s policies, procedures, and instructions
- Participate in crew and passenger safety drills as instructed by the ship’s command
- Perform all other duties as requested by supervisor
Requirements
- Hospitality background required
- Reception and Front Office background required
- Auditing and Night Audit skills preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Fidelio Cruise, and Micros Fidelio Point of Sale
- Understanding of the highest level of service
- Excellent administrative skills
