Responsibilities
- Execute house releases for all Rio Grande communities following the established process to ensure accurate variance reporting.
- Provide detailed Load Budgets Request Sheets to Accounting with clear expectations.
- Control and reduce costs by selecting vendors based on quality, cost, and service.
- Procure contracts and materials at the lowest possible cost while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to value engineer new products and projects.
- Support and provide feedback for purchasing strategy adjustments.
- Work with peers to develop cost-cutting ideas and motivate the team to achieve these goals.
- Complete detailed cost and quantity estimates for residential products using Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Design and implement strategies to reduce build-time and cost while maintaining or increasing quality standards.
- Lead Soils and Post-Tension engineering efforts.
- Ensure accuracy of purchasing information on sales documents (option prices, custom option costing, selections, colors, etc.).
- Maintain variance goals of less than 0.5% for all houses in all subdivisions.
- Create and analyze Variance Reports monthly, working with peers to explain variances over/under $300.
- Work diligently with Accounting to resolve variance issues after reviewing reports.
- Process the Exception Report within 3.5 hours of receipt, ensuring delivery to Construction Project Managers by 12 PM and back to Accounting by 1:30 PM.
- Provide hard costs for new communities and plans in a timely manner.
- Review and track Custom Option Requests, assisting the Estimating team as needed to ensure estimates are completed within 3 days (5 days for structural requests requiring drawings).
- Ensure accuracy of all custom option estimates for Sales.
- Submit and collect all rebate programs quarterly by the 10th of the month.
- Help Hakes Brothers become the Builder of Choice for trade contractors by managing relationships effectively.
- Work with trade contractors to create mutual value, negotiate win-win pricing, and ensure proper materials for job execution.
- Cooperate with other departments to improve company culture.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, acting as a leader and positive example for peers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must own or have access to a vehicle for daily work.
- Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
Qualifications
Preferred: At least two years of relevant experience.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to access and navigate all areas under consideration in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, etc.).
