Responsibilities

  • Lead faculty appointments, tenure, and promotion processes
  • Develop and implement faculty policies and handbooks
  • Advise leadership on faculty personnel and risk management
  • Promote equitable faculty workload and evaluation practices
  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and manage grievances
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies
  • Contribute to strategic faculty workforce planning

Qualifications

  • Master's or professional degree (MBA, JD, etc.) required; terminal degree preferred
  • Significant experience in higher education administration or labor relations
  • In-depth knowledge of faculty personnel systems and shared governance
  • Experience in collective bargaining and grievance resolution
  • Strong understanding of employment law relevant to higher education
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage confidential matters with integrity
