Assistant Prosecuting Attorney – Huron County

About the role

The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney will work closely with the County Prosecutor to investigate, prosecute, and advocate for justice on behalf of the people of Huron County. The position involves handling a variety of criminal cases, including misdemeanors and felonies, and working with law enforcement agencies to gather evidence.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and prosecute criminal cases, including misdemeanors and felonies
  • Work with law enforcement agencies to gather evidence
  • Prepare and present cases in court
  • Advocate for fair treatment of all parties involved
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals and community partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law, or a related field
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal experience
  • Ability to pass a background check

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Skills

  • Knowledge of Michigan criminal laws and procedures
  • Experience with legal research and writing

$50,000 - $70,000 annually

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
