Assistant Project Manager - Water Resources - Knoxville, TN
About the role
Working in a fast-paced, highly creative, collaborative environment, you will provide administrative and technical assistance to the Project Management Team. This includes daily processing of RFIs and submittals, updates to the project schedule, and other activities to ensure a project meets the company's "high five" requirements. You will train and develop Office Engineers and support the Project Manager, as well as create, update, and maintain a variety of project controls that track the status of individual projects or task orders, changes, RFIs, shop drawings and submittals, quality controls, safety, financial performance, close-out, and other aspects of the project(s).
You will support the physical layout and acquire an understanding of the spatial relationships of the physical work, develop control line drawings using CAD, review and coordinate shop drawings, and perform other activities that ensure the various elements of work fit together correctly.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and understand the overall financial status throughout the duration of a project, including subcontract status, vendor status, labor/payroll, small tools, construction equipment, forming materials and systems, miscellaneous materials, and project overhead.
- Work with subject matter experts to create, review, and process shop drawings and other submittals required to document construction progress.
- Develop an understanding of process management and perform work contracted through a variety of delivery methods.
- Use software applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Viewpoint, Viewpoint Field Work Center, and HCSS.
- Travel to project locations, including extended stays at project sites, may be required.
Requirements
- Ability to monitor and understand the overall financial status of a project.
- Experience or willingness to learn process management and work with various project delivery methods.
- Working knowledge of or demonstrated willingness to learn the following software: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Viewpoint, Viewpoint Field Work Center, and HCSS.
