About the role
Rosendin is an employee-owned electrical contractor with more than 7,000 team members across the United States. The Assistant Project Manager is an entry-level position designed to develop competency in project management while providing administrative and construction support to the Project Management team.
Responsibilities
- Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes
- Oversee project activities as assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordinating, problem resolution, and ensuring adherence to company and project policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain change order, submittal, and document (drawing) control logs
- Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings
- Ensure contract submittals are accurate and timely
- Create and issue subcontractors’ contracts
- Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals in a timely manner
- Ensure the project quality control plan is followed
- Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for Owner and Maintenance Manuals
- Maintain the Warranty Log
- Attend company and project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and others, providing project management support
- Cooperate with and assist field personnel in the area of responsibility
- Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress
- Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files
- Prepare price change orders and project reports and documentation
- Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information
Requirements
- Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods required
- Tactful and professional demeanor with ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management
- Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements
- Proficiency in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities as necessary
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction-related role, or equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant work experience
Travel
Up to 25%
Working Conditions
- General work environment—primarily on active construction sites
- Activity includes sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending
- Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions (fluorescent lighting, air conditioning)
- Noise level is typically low to medium
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs
