Assistant Project Manager (Travel to project sites across the United States required)

About the role

The Assistant Project Manager at Sendero Energy Services will support the planning, coordinating, and executing of various renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar farms, carbon capture, and biodiesel facilities. This position involves working closely with the senior leadership team and contributing to successfully delivering projects within established timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing leadership to the operations team (office and field) in project construction activities.
• Support the review of estimated quantities and scope of work.
• Must complete the NCCER Safety Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Collaborate with the project management team in developing and reviewing project construction schedules.
• Participate in the optimization of project budgets, fees, and margins.
• Aid in managing the financial health of projects and ensuring construction budgets are met.
• Support operations crew workload management for timely completion of deliverables.
• Prepare monthly invoices to EPC clients with required supporting data.
• Review project contract terms and conditions, addressing risk issues.
• Participate in validating potential value engineering items, alternates, and options for project optimization.
• Review project documents and identify gaps or overlaps in scope.
• Train and mentor office and field staff.
• Contribute to the risk review process with internal and external clients.
• Ensure bonds and insurance are in place and within budget.
• Select and manage subcontractors, including the "buy-out" process.
• Verify subcontractor POs and insurance are in place.
• Prepare estimates for internal and external clients.
• Collaborate within the "Team Concept" at all times.
• Be flexible and responsive to all other duties assigned by Senior Leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement—a minimum of 3 years of direct construction experience and 5 years of project estimating experience for water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment facilities.
• Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, HeavyBid, PlanSwift, and OST is desired.
• OSHA 30 Hour safety certification required.
• CPR / First Aid Certification.
• NCCER Certification within 90 days of hire.
