Responsibilities
- Aid project managers with the daily coordination and administration of structural steel projects
- Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and related documentation
- Prepare, submit, track, and maintain submittals, requests for information, change documentation, and project correspondence
- Cook with field supervision, general contractors, subcontractors, fabricators, suppliers, and internal departments
- Track material fabrication, deliveries, equipment needs, and project milestones
- Aid with the development and maintenance of project schedules
- Identify potential delays, conflicts, or coordination issues and communicate them to project leadership
- Maintain accurate project files, logs, meeting notes, reports, and supporting documentation
- Aid with purchase orders, subcontractor documentation, invoices, commitments, and project cost tracking
- Participate in project meetings and communicate action items to the appropriate team members
- Aid with project forecasting, progress reporting, and status updates
- Assist with project closeout, including punch-list items, turnover documents, warranties, and final records
- Affirm effective communication between project management and field operations
- Promote compliance with company safety policies, project requirements, and applicable regulations
- Perform other project-related responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- One or more years of experience in construction, project coordination, engineering, or a related field preferred
- Experience with structural steel, steel erection, fabrication, or commercial construction preferred
- The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
- An understanding of construction project documentation, including submittals, requests for information, change orders, and schedules
- A strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
- The ability to work effectively with project managers, field personnel, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with construction management, scheduling, or document-control software preferred
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field preferred, relevant construction experience may be considered in place of a degree
- A valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations as required
