Assistant Project Manager - New Construction

About the role

As an Assistant Project Manager - New Construction in Scarsdale, NY you will oversee and assist the project management team with large new construction commercial projects. The role oversees new construction commercial projects in Westchester, Orange, and Putnam counties. This is a pivotal hire with a pathway for leadership.

Our client is a large, reputable general contractor with a strong market presence in the commercial construction market. They are hiring due to growth and have landed several new projects slated to start within the next few weeks. This position is immediately available.

Responsibilities

• Help plan and coordinate construction project activities to keep work aligned with project goals.
• Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables, and share updates with relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain project documents, including meeting notes, drawings, change records, and project files.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal teams to address project needs.
• Monitor project costs and support budget tracking by reviewing invoices, commitments, and updates.
• Attend project meetings and site visits to document progress, action items, and open issues.
• Help prepare project reports and status updates for the project team.
• Follow up on outstanding tasks to support timely project completion.

Requirements

• Experience coordinating construction project activities and tracking key deliverables.
• Experience reviewing project schedules, budgets, invoices, and project documentation.
• Ability to organize drawings, meeting notes, change records, and other project files.
• Experience working with contractors, vendors, consultants, and project teams.
• Ability to communicate project updates clearly and follow up on open action items.
• Comfort attending site visits and documenting construction progress.

Pay

Salary of $90,000 to $95,000.
